Dr. Khalid is a board-certified, practicing Emergency Physician with over a decade of clinical experience. He is fellowship-trained in Advanced Emergency Ultrasound, serving as a highly awarded educator and administrator. His passion is in creating innovative clinical care models to improve Emergency Department utilization. These models include increasing access to community-based care, facilitating inpatient throughput, post-acute care placement and minimize hospital readmissions.

Professional Experience

Dr. Khalid currently practices in Georgia and holds an active license in multiple states. After completing Emergency Medicine residency at Wayne State University in Detroit and an Ultrasound fellowship at Emory University, he developed a keen interest in improving efficiency of care delivery in the Emergency Department. Having worked on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic, he realized that gaps in healthcare delivery consequently affect the Emergency Department. Improving healthcare utilization requires innovation in digital health, clinical application and workflow development. Dr. Khalid obtained a certification of AI in Healthcare from Stanford University to better understand effective use of digital health. He has since developed comprehensive clinical models in post-acute care to decrease hospital readmissions. Furthermore, he is involved in a myriad of projects to reduce ED boarding, minimize overcrowding and improve healthcare access within the community.
